AFTERCARE ADVICE

Thank you for choosing Cheltenham Gloss to create your new nails.

I know you will absolutely LOVE wearing them and I expect your nails to last flawlessly for 14 days (up to 21 days for enhancements), sometimes more, as long as you give them a little care and attention during that time.

I create nails that suit your lifestyle and they will be pretty indestructible with Normal Wear and Tear.  This means that you have to partner with me by adding a little protection to your nails if doing tough jobs like household cleaning and gardening, hobbies that are rough on your hands or using harsh chemical products without wearing gloves; doing these things without protection will affect your finished manicure.

If you do happen to cause some damage to your coating and see any of the following signs, I hope you find the advice below helpful.

If something you have done has caused a chip or lifted an edge of your manicure, please DO NOT pick or pull at the area, as this will cause any damage to increase.

Please ring me on 07894 150401 so that I can assess the nail and decide if a repair is necessary.

PLEASE NOTE THAT REPAIRS WILL BE CHARGEABLE

If you are going on holiday, please be careful when using sun tan creams/oils or insect repellants as many of these products contain solvent oils which will cause major damage to your manicure.

Some of the more delicate gel polish colours can fade somewhat if one is in chlorinated water followed by excessive sun (remember that chlorine is a bleach and sun intensifies the bleaching action).

Dry your hands and nails after swimming and before sunbathing to minimise any colour fading.

Please remember that your nails are made of keratin (the same material as your hair).  Just like using hair conditioner, the single, most important thing you can do to maintain your manicure is to use a professional quality cuticle oil AT LEAST twice a day (and especially at night before going to bed).

Using cuticle oil balances the moisture in your skin and nails, prevents peeling nails and keeps your manicure chip-free and waterproof.

I recommend EMOKI Cuticle Oils, which I retail in several moreish fragrances.  Please ask for more details.

Please only use LANOLIN-FREE hand creams.  Products that contain lanolin can promote lifting of nail coatings.

If you wish to temporarily change the colour of your nails while wearing gel polish, you can apply nail polish over the top, but please be sure to use an Acetone-Free remover if removing nail polish between appointments.

Relative to your lifestyle and activity level, your manicure will need fortnightly to three-weekly maintenance as there will be obvious regrowth.

If you wish to have your nail coatings removed, please give me a ring and let me do it safely for you in the salon.  Incorrect removal at home may damage the surface of your natural nails.

I will be able to remove your nail coatings using professional remover and give you a nail shape and buff, so that your natural nails look perfectly groomed before you leave.

If you have any questions or queries, please never hesitate to contact me.
